Hi, I’m Jessamyn Kear - a Spanish-speaking birth and postpartum doula, childbirth and new parent educator, infant massage instructor and professional bodyworker serving the Greater Los Angeles area. As a second-generation birth professional, I am passionate about women being well-informed in regard to the multitude of choices they have in the realms of birth and motherhood. I prioritize providing solid, evidence-based information to the families and birthing women I serve, and I feel endlessly honored to be invited into their sacred birthing spaces as they bring their new little ones into the world.
When someone gives birth or bears witness to a person giving birth, there is no denying the transformation that takes place, nor the magnitude of that transformation. A birthing mother deserves unwavering, continuous support throughout her labor, birth and postpartum time, and the services I provide cater to this fact. My background as a professional bodyworker enables me to utilize my massage skills and keen intuition in providing exactly the relief each laboring and healing mother needs.
I have been privileged to support birthing women in a variety of different locations around the United States, as well as internationally. Some of the places I have lived and worked include Tucson, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Sydney, Australia. My exposure to the way families birth in these different locales has greatly shaped my understanding of birth as a transformational life event, and I enjoy sharing my multi-faceted perspective with clients as we prepare for each of their unique journeys.
My greatest joy is my family. I love being a mom to an amazing daughter, and raising her with my partner in crime - my Captain and best friend - my husband. When not serving my community in the realms of birth and postpartum, I enjoy photography, traveling, being with friends and family and caring for my Westie, Junie.
